Stephen Reed posted a condolence

Uncle Ray was one of my most favourite people. For many many years we discussed topics ranging from potential business ideas to the meaning of life. I was fortunate to catch up with him in Florida and then later in Canada with my wife Lil - who also thought he was a really lovely person.
We enjoyed the time Jan and Ray visited us in Melbourne and often remember this as a very special time.
He will remain in our memories.

Ray was such a smart creative man. A pleasure to share a drink with and invariably a few laughs. Stew and I were remembering the time we had steak at the cottage with Billy from Australia who used to play in the band with Ray in their younger days.
Ray made all kinds of things out of felled tree branches; garden arbors, Santa’s reindeer and a lovely twig star which I still use every Christmas and think of Ray with fondness.
Love and condolences to the Ellis family.

Hey Jake (Dad).
I think we shared your last Plane ride together. Destination, Henry’s Fish Fry located on Sans Souci Island.
We celebrated the day enjoying your FAVE food.
Fish and chips, Mushy Peas, all handsomely DROWNED in malt vinegar. I forgot to mention the beer which helped the food ’slide' down (for you only).
Love you man!
Please know, we’ll always be there for Mum right up to the time she pays you a visit.
RIP POPS
Roy

There are too many memories I would love to share of my bull, but having this special dance with him is one I’ll never forget.

We came to know Ray through our son-in-law, Jeff, and his wonderful parents, Les and Mike. Ray was always interesting. In these photos from a wedding party for Jeff and Lexi, his charm is evident. He spoke for an hour about music with my niece, who is a jazz musician. Sue and I send our condolences. We will miss him too.

This day out in 2009 (I think) was the most wonderful day spent with my Uncle Ray, Aunty Jean and Grandad (passed), on my Aunty June and Uncle Paul’s boat on the River Trent in England. My Mum and John were also with us. We had such a lovely day together and created some lasting memories xxx
