I’m so very sorry to hear about the loss of your father Kim. Please accept my condolences and thoughts.
As you know very well, I grew up along side your family. I was best friends with Char we basically were brothers. I met your family when I was in grade 5 public school. Your family means a lot to me and I’ll never forget being invited to the trailer at the Lantern Marina countless times.
I have probably spent more time with your mom and dad than anybody. The best times of my life was at the trailer with your family. Your family is the reason I bought a cottage in northern Ontario. Your mom and dad introduced me to “Muskoka” which I enjoy so much.
I mention the trailer a lot because it was the most time spend with your dad. I remember going down to Brampton to pick him up from work and drive to the trailer as soon as he was done. 2.5 hours or so one way. 5 hour round trip - I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours in the car with your dad
I’ve known your family for over 30 years. The memories and laughs are endless and will live on forever. I still think of the trailer days and that specific area all the time, probably way more than you think.
Every weekend I drive to my cottage I drive past “Southwood Road” or “Kilworthy Road and I can’t help but remember the best times of my life flash by from the years past. It was the experience of a lifetime and that experience is embedded into my life to this very day and your family was the reason behind it.
