Obituary of Gerald Roy Nickles

‘Thank you to all the Family and Friends for the prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. I would like to express, on behalf of Mother and I, our gratitude for the chance to raise our five children. Whom have all grownup to be kind and caring people, that have such wonderful friends. They blessed us with 11 grandchildren and 17 & 2 more on the way great-grandchildren. When you leave your home turn around, look back and be proud of what you have accomplished. As you greet your neighbour, give them a big smile and be aware that your smile just may be contagious’ Dictated by Gerald - July 2019 Gerald Roy Nickles peacefully passed away at home on September 2nd, 2019 surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Ethel Helen nee Wilson (predeceased). Eldest son of Robert Roy and Kathleen Marguerite (nee McGuire) (predeceased). Brother to Jack, Frank, Winston, Ron, Rob, Chuck, Ken (predeceased) & Jen. Supportive father of Peter & Karen Nickles, Susan & Bob (predeceased) Clark, Debra & Don (predeceased) Wright, Cheryl Oughtred, Stephen & Helena Nickles. Gerry was well known for his love of baseball and hockey; the Christmas House on Maple St; his many years spent at Alcan. He will be fondly remembered at his favourite place ‘the cabin’. Gerry could also be seen flying his plane over Muskoka or touring the lakes on his boat. Always putting his family first with his unconditional love, earned him the honour of being called our Head Honcho. Amazing Grandfather to Tracy – Max & Jon, Lori – Sarah & Nick, Tina – Jessie, Jimi - Emma & Gavin, Melissa – Brody, Jordyn & Donovan (predeceased), Bradley – Gracie & a expected great-grandchild , Daniel – Rex & a expected great-grandchild , Caitlyn – Bowen & Hayden, Justin, Kyla – Bryce, Brody & Blake and Toni Special thank you to the supportive PSWs, Closing the Gap, Dr.Hotson and his associates, and the North Simcoe Muskoka Community Care . A celebration of life has taken place, with lots of smiles, laughter and cherished memories, just as Gerry wanted.
