Obituary of Martin Sewell

Please share a memory of Martin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Martin Frederick Sewell January 19, 1943 – June 30, 2017 Born in Gravesend, Kent, England, he and his mother Grace, were whisked away to Wales during the war years, while his father Frederick, served with the Q.M.S. Royal Engineers. He was educated in C of E schools, started working, and at 17, decided to come to Canada. His professional career spanned many areas. He worked in the printing and packaging industry, was purchasing and traffic manager for Pepsi Cola Canada, went into estimating system sales, partnered in a consulting business supporting printing companies, worked with a Danish conglomerate and then parlayed a hobby into his business “To Your Taste”, a shop providing supplies to amateur winemakers and homebrewers. His personal life included 2 marriages, 1st to Heather and they had 2 sons, Shane and Adam who produced 2 grandsons, Michael and Tyler. The second was with Carol Tabuchi, wife and partner of 43 years. He had many friends of all ages who enjoyed his eclectic wit and diverse intellect. He was an award winning homebrewer and beer judge who happily gave up competition when he became a Grand Master. A music lover and guitar aficionado, he hosted “Band Camp” many times with his beer club buddies. He was, grudgingly, a model extraordinaire for a student photographer's portfolio and Ryerson gave her an "A". He was a nurturing care-giver for his ailing mother-in-law. While he relished his travel experiences, he was always happy to come home to his cats, his motorcycle and his “park.” John Bayfield said it best when he designed a business card for Martin describing him as “Bon Vivant, Raconteur & World Traveler.” Many thanks to Spectrum Health Care and Central West LHIN for their support. Martin was cremated as he directed and a Celebration of his Life (AKA Whopping Great Party!) is to be held. Invitation to the Celebration of Life (AKA Great Whopping Party) of the late, great Martin Sewell. It will be held on Sunday September 17, 2017, from 1:30 - 4:30 at The Gibson Centre, Mercer Pub, 63 Tupper Street West, Alliston, ON L9R 1E4.
