Obituary of Rae Ritchie

Ritchie, John Charles (Rae) Rae was born on December 22, 1939 in Grand Valley, Ontario, and passed away peacefully on Sunday August 19, 2018 at 78 years of age. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Elinor (nee Foreman); proud father of Catharine and Greg Goss (Fergus) and Craig and Anne Ritchie (Grand Valley) ; proud grandfather to his grandsons Kyle (Sara) Goss, Blair Goss and Cullen and Nolen Ritchie and his great grandson Tucker Goss; dear brother of Shirley, Wayne, Lorraine, Wally, Murray and their spouses; brother in law of Deanna, Brian (deceased), Yvonne, Sam, Margo, Heather and their spouses. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Mae Ritchie and father and mother in law Ozzie and Rolla Foreman. Rae will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Rae was a lifelong resident of Grand Valley, Past owner of the Grand Valley Creamery, Member of Grand Valley Council, Life time member of Community of Christ Church. Rae was a familiar face seen at the local arena and ball diamond and cruising around in his two classic cars. As per Rae’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Community of Christ Church, 23 Mill Street East, Grand Valley, Ontario on Sunday August 26th, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday August 27th, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service to celebrate Rae's life at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rae to Community of Christ Church, Grand Valley or the ALS Society, would be appreciated by the family.
