Gladys Mae MEFFEN
August 30, 1930 - October 27, 2023

On Friday, October 27th, 2023, Gladys Mae Meffen went home to be with the Lord. In her 93rd year.

Gladys was a loving mother to George, Wayne, Brenda (Gary), and Hal.  A daughter of local homesteaders George and Alice Speers and a sister to Madeline, Elva, IIene, Anna, and Joyce.  A beautiful, caring grandmother, great grandmother, who have benefited from her many gifts and sharing of a life well lived.

Gladys was known for her generous, lighthearted and compassionate soul.

Gladys cared for the simple things in life, spending time with loved ones, finding a lake to canoe and catch the perfect fish and sunrises. She loved horses, birds, boating, travels through the north.  At her lakeside home in Bolsover, she would spend the time gardening, crocheting, knitting making memorable pieces for her family and friends. She loved canning preserves and baking delicious apple pies and tarts. Gladys love for music, song, dance would fill a room with laughter, love and joy.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and always will be remembered in their hearts.

We are sincerely thankful to the many nurses and staff at Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care in Shelburne, for their care and compassion in her final years.  And to the many family and friends, who have given their support, comfort during this time of loss.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 24th, 2023 at the Shelburne Agricultural Society Centre located at 377 Williams Street, Shelburne, ON, starting at 2:00 pm.  Please join us in celebrating a life well lived and sharing your precious memories in Gladys life.
