Obituary of Jean Elizabeth BOILEAU
Celebrating the Life of Jean Elizabeth Boileau (Roach) July 22, 1941 - November 8, 2020 Jean Boileau (Roach), age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on November 8, 2020 from Lung Cancer. She was born July 22, 1941 in Montreal, Quebec to Leslie and Eleanor. She married the love of her life, Doug Boileau in 1967, who preceded her in death in 2001. Jean was a kind and generous woman whose sweet disposition was loved by so many people. It was her mission in life to find ways to serve other people. She started this early with her career in nursing and demonstrated this constantly with her decades of volunteer work for many different organizations, such as the Catholic Women’s League, the Newmarket Newcomer’s Club, and the various parishes where she lived. She was always the first to offer a lift to a friend in need and searched for any excuse to offer up a gift to anyone who so much as paid her a visit. She was a loyal and loving person who made friends easily in the many places she lived and was grateful to discover a whole new group of friends when she found herself living in the strange community of Milwaukee. Her membership in Beta Sigma Phi brought her many new sisters in her moves through Milwaukee, Newmarket/Bradford and Barrie. Jean’s favorite pastime was baking, and she loved to share the fruits of her labour with others. Even her doctors’ offices and pharmacies can all attest to having had many opportunities to sample her delicious treats! Most of all, Jean loved her family dearly and spent every chance she could doing something to help her children. She adored her grandchildren and they will all remember fondly the numerous outings to movies, lunches, shopping and making memories at Creative Café. Despite her many health struggles, seeing her grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren could always bring joy to her heart and light up her face. She made an incredible impact on their lives; she helped shape who they are, and while they will miss her dearly, Grandma Jean will always hold a huge place in their hearts. Jean is survived by her children Sandra Barker (David), Michael Boileau (Michele), and Suzanne Yurt (Orhan), her step-granddaughter Sara Barker (Luke), her grandchildren Seth Boileau, Quinn Boileau, Mehmed Yurt, Riley Boileau and Baileigh Boileau, and her step-great-grandchildren Gabriel and Ava. She is also survived by her sisters Ann and Terry and her brother Dave, sister-in-law Judy, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sadly miss her. Due to Covid restrictions, and for the safety of her beloved friends and family members, final respects and funeral will be limited to the following: Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 2:00 – 2:45 PM at St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie.
