Obituary of Norma Elizabeth MEHARG

Please share a memory of Norma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

September 5, 1963 - October 26, 2022

It is with extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Norma Meharg. She died peacefully at Headwaters Healthcare Centre after a brief illness. Late daughter of Jack(2004) & Bea(2019) Meharg. Survived by her sisters Nancy & Jackie(Brad) ; niece Erika; and by many family and friends.  She will missed and remembered by all that knew her.

Early on Norma developed a love of horses and that became her special joy. The early mornings and long drives to the barn were worth the joy of caring for, and being with people who also cared for, these lovely animals. Her horse Dandy was a big part of her world for many years, they were the perfect pair. She went on to teach, sharing the experience of love and care of horses with younger generations.

Norma battled with Multiple Sclerosis for many years! She never let it slow her down, she may have had MS but it did not have her! Her independence was her superpower and she was winning the war against MS it may have won many battles over the years but she continued to fight. Norma was a member of the Orangeville MS Support Group, a Peer Leader in Self Management and an amazing fundraiser and supporter of Hospice Dufferin and the Multiple sclerosis society. Her smile would light up a room and her laugh was always full of humour! Norma loved to have fun, whether it was dinner with friends, trips to her favourite spots in Lions Head or The Red Barns she loved to enjoy life and the occasional glass of Sangria.

Norma was someone you could always count on. She was always there to listen or lend a helping hand. Norma was a kind person with a heart of gold.

It was Norma’s wish that no funeral service take place. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Dufferin or the Multiple Sclerosis Society Canada: Peel-Dufferin Chapter
