Obituary of Marlain Lillian LEESON

Marlain Lillian Leeson (nee McCann)

December 15 1945 - August 26 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear wife (Larry Leeson), mother (Mark Leeson (Jewel), Jody Richardson (Mike), Nana (Halle & Camden), sister, Aunt and friend.  Marlain was loved by everyone who met her.  She had a kind soul and made people feel warm with her smile.  She touched the hearts of many through the years.  She was a “mom” and “nana” to many young people because she was always there for them. If you needed advice or someone to listen she was there. Many people have said she gave the best hugs. 

Marlain was the younger sister to 3 brothers (Randall, Gerald and Robert (pre-deceased), whom she loved dearly and only daughter to her parents (Fred & Lillian McCann pre-deceased).  She was a wonderful daughter and daughter in law.

She met her husband of 56 years at an early age and they were the truest of best friends.  Larry and Marlain were to each other what many hope to have.  They would laugh until there were tears and supported each other through all aspects of life.  Larry spent the last few years caring for Marlain and wouldn’t leave her side.  He took care of his love until the very end and made her feel calm and safe as long as he was there. 

Our hope for her is that she was welcomed by her brother Bob and her parents because she missed them so dearly. 

Marlain fought through life with many illnesses but always had a warm smile and sadly her life was cut short through no fault of her own.  The hardest part of leaving this world was worrying about her kids and grandkids.  She needed to know they were settled and they would be ok.  She was the strongest woman and a mama bear. 

She will be missed beyond measure but would want everyone to be strong and make her proud.  She was loved and that’s all she ever wanted out of her life. 

She’s at peace now and will no longer suffer.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Marlain on Saturday September 3, 2022, from 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm, at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc - 28 Main Street North, Grand Valley, ON L9W 5S7
