Obituary of Charles Patrick MURPHY

Charles Patrick Murphy Charles (Chuck) Patrick Murphy, was born to John Joseph Murphy and Margaret Joan (Hales) on October 3, 1944 in Derbyshire, England. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Carol (Knill) and his daughter Theresa McVean. He leaves to morn his sons Larry and Tony and his adored granddaughter Ada McVean. Charles will be deeply missed by his brothers Andy (Sandra), Jerry (Cheryl), his sisters Marjorie (Harold McColm), and Pat Picherack as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. In 1949 Charles immigrated with his family to Canada. He attended Bowmanville and Clarke high schools where he excelled in academics and sports. Charles married his sweetheart Carol in 1966 and they were longtime residents of Orangeville where Charles was involved in the construction business. He was a strong supporter of his community and an active member of the Faith Wesleyan Church. His deep faith in God and optimistic nature sustained him throughout his life and especially his last years. His family is grateful for the excellent care Charles received at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto General Hospital and at Headwaters Healthcare Centre. Special thanks to the Nurses, Personal Support Workers and Dr. Charles Joyce for providing excellent care during a difficult time. A Memorial Service will take place at The Well Church Orangeville (21170 Hurontario St., Caledon, Ontario) on Saturday February 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior at 12 noon. Covid protocol for the services for Charles are as follows: All are welcome to attend the visitation. The Memorial Service is limited to 50 guests max, it will be a first come first serve basis. Once the capacity limit is reached guests will not be permitted to enter.
