Anna
Sorry to hear About Karl.He was a special man and kind soul. I always enjoyed having dinner with you and Klaas at your home. Always hospitable He made me feel welcome when i stayed with you. A deeply religious man who enjoyed attending jewish services with me and you at my local synagogue. Very handy who keep your rambling property in tip top shape. I will miss him. Condolences to you and your family jonathan bishinsky

First of all I would like to offer my and my wife’s condolences to Anna and her boys.My dad,Jack and Karl were good friends for over 60 years. Interesting as my parents were influential with the DeRooy family so were Karl and Anna influential in my and Marty’s family. In fact I worked with Karl over 50 years ago. It was quite an educational experience! One I will never forget.
He was a kind thoughtful Christian.
“ Well done good and faithful servant “

Karl was a brilliant builder. He was a very competent engineer, and perhaps was bemused as a couple of sons received degrees. We can attest that he was selfless in his contributions to others: neighbours, school and Church. (He “saved” our heritage home performing a very tough renovation. That is how he enjoyed retirement.) Karl was a loyal friend and will be missed. Rest In Peace, Karl. Bob and Jane Crouch

Our sincere condolences to the family and Anna. We hope that Saturday will be a beautiful day despite the sadness. We send our love. Lot De Rooy-Matthes Cok De Rooy Yvonne Kroese
The picture on the left is from Lot De Rooy-Matthes the widow of Klaas late brother Hans. It shows Klaas during his military service posing in his tank driver uniform. It suites him very well! The second picture also from Lot is taken, we think, shortly before he left for Canada. The 3rd picture is a drawing by Yvonne the wife of Cok de Rooy after a portrait of Klaas same period as the 2nd photograph.
The 4rd picture apparently from the 70's, Klaas send to his brother Cok de Rooy in the Netherlands.
