Obituary of William Ross HEATELY

January 17, 1947- February 11, 2021 Passed away peacefully at the age of 74 at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville Ontario. Beloved husband of Patricia Eve (Sills) Heately. Brother of Betsy Heately of Brockville and Robert Heately (Judy Johnson) of Sudbury. Brother-in-law of Janet Sills (Brian McGhee) of Calgary and Bob Sills (Brenda) and their children and grandchildren. Predeceased by parents William and Evelyn Heately, and by aunts, uncles and grandparents. Survived by cousins Heather Elmore, Alan Tompkins, Ken Godbeer, Scott McMillan, Margaret Godbeer, Gary Tompkins and their families. Ross worked for many years for Harper Collins in Toronto and retired in 2007. He and Pat relocated to her home town of Orangeville in 2019. Ross loved to cycle and play baseball. He was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays. We so admired Ross for his perseverance in spite of multiple health and disability issues throughout his life, and for his absolute devotion to Pat. Special thanks to the many caregivers at the Avalon Retirement Residence, Headwaters Hospital and the local LHIN, and also to Michael and Sinikka Fitz-Gerald of Uxbridge. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and internment will be held later in Orangeville as conditions permit. A donation can be made in Ross’ memory to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Red Cross.
