Obituary of Viola Shirley HALPIN

Viola Shirley Halpin ( nee Fortin) September 22, 1927- October 18, 2020 Peacefully at Coleman Care Center, at the age of 93 on October 18th, with her daughter Lisa by her side. Viola was a beautiful mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Viola was born and raised in Verdun, Quebec. In 1964, it was time to move to the suburbs of Dollard Des Ormeaux. There, mom raised her children, and made many friends along the way. She started working at Simpson’s, where she became an expert in the boys clothing department. They moved to Pierrefonds for 6 years, then made the big move to Toronto in 1979. Viola began working at Sears, and graced the Customer Service Team with her big smile and friendly spirit. She enjoyed working with people, and always lit up a room. She was caring, giving, generous and always put family first. Mom loved dinner parties, decorating, reading and fashion. Her creative flare was prevalent, in everything she did. Viola is survived by her children Charles Halpin (Holly), Glenn Halpin( Bonnie), Neill Halpin (Lynn) and Lisa Morris ( Rusty). Her Sister Grace Stinton, nephew Ron Davis, and many more nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. Brittney(James), Michael, Erik, Ryan, Hunter and Dawson, will forever remember the wonderful nanny they were so lucky to have. She is predeceased by her husband Charles Halpin Sr, her sister Olive Hubley, brother Jim Halpin, and her beautiful niece Rhonda Woods. A celebration of life and internment will be held in the spring. Details will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Breast Cancer Society, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation, are greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Coleman Care Center for taking such great care of mom. An elegant angel has gracefully flown away.
