My name is Diane Lawson and I have been providing grief and bereavement support in Orangeville and the surrounding area for over twenty years. My education includes a B.A. in Thanatology ("study of death and psychological mechanisms for coping with them"), from University of Western Ontario; and a Certificate in Bereavement Education from the University of Toronto.
My professional experience includes numerous positions with Bereaved Families of Ontario and I am currently a lay chaplain at Headwaters Health Care Centre. I am also a member of Bereavement Ontario Network.
I am passionate about journeying with those living with loss and have facilitated young widow groups, parent groups, provided one-on-one support and have led Christmas memorial events as well as grief educational events.
With In Memoriam I will be providing grief and bereavement support through monthly open nights as well as publishing newsletters throughout the year to ensure that families and individuals have the opportunity to access information to assist them while coping with one of life's toughest transitions.
